Join Hands Along the Nile Development Services (HANDS) on Saturday, June 23, for a luncheon to celebrate the impact of connections forged between Chicago and Egypt. Come experience the food, music, culture and handicrafts of Egypt’s ancient but still flourishing civilization. You’ll also hear more about HANDS’ work in under-served communities along the Nile–and how some local Chicagoans have been involved in empowering the youth of Egypt.
Date: Saturday, June 23 at 12 PM – 2 PM CDT
Location: Kurah Mediterranean, 1355 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, Illinois 60605
Did you know that two-thirds of youth in Egypt are jobless: neither in school nor able to find employment? HANDS is working to change that statistic through our vocational training programs.
Proceeds from our Chicago-area luncheon will help us expand these opportunities to more deserving young people.
We’re honored to have Consul General, Ambassador Abueldahab, joining us to greet guests, as well as HANDS Board President, Dr. Graeme Bannerman, sharing about the challenges and opportunities in today’s Egypt.
In addition to a Middle Eastern lunch, there will be Egyptian music and a silent auction, featuring Egyptian handicrafts!
Tickets are $60 per person. Individual and corporate sponsorships are also available.
Tickets can be purchased online at: http://
