Olivia Zhang is a recent graduate from The George Washington University with a degree in International Affairs and a concentration in the Middle East. In 2017, she studied abroad in Tel Aviv, Israel and interned at Israeli think tank Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies, where she worked on several projects regarding the conflicts in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine. Last summer, she interned at the Washington, DC local newspaper Street Sense Media, where she interviewed council members, activists, healthcare specialists, and people who have experienced homelessness and wrote articles to cover the DC homeless community. She is passionate about international development issues across the world. At HANDS, she primarily focuses on managing social media posts and writing e-newsletters.
